Southwestern Florida and its sub-tropical weather where the average temperature is 75 degrees is a magnet for people all over the world.

Sunshine & Growth

The area is booming and there are no state taxes. The Fort Myers metro area including Cape Coral was the second highest growth area in Florida and fifth nationally in 2017, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

The current political atmosphere regarding immigration in the nation can be daunting. Immigrants, however, have found that an investor visa is a sure-fire strategy for living in the most economically viable part of the number one economy in the world.

What Exactly is an E-2 Investor Visa?

An E Visa are used between the U.S. and countries the United States has a treaty with. Some “Treaty Trader Visa” countries are Belgium, Canada, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. An E-2 visa is where an immigrant or foreign national comes to the United States to invest and buy a company.

Can the Investor Borrow?

When buying a business for $100,000 or less, the investor can’t borrow. For investment up to $500,000, the investor is allowed 60% equity and businesses for sale at $1 million or more, 50% equity is allowed.

If the investor seeks a personal loan, he or she can borrow 100%.

There is no minimum or maximum investment. The only criteria for an E-2 investor visa is that the Florida business needs to be active at the time of sale.

The E-2 Visa lasts up to five years and can be renewed if the Florida business is in operation.

Spouses can work and children 21 or younger are permitted to study.
